One of the best parts about rugby is the gear: jerseys, jackets, t-shirts, patches, ties, scarves, kit bags... you name a good item of gear, and Prep Rugby either has it, or is working on getting it. Our players are the best dressed student athletes around.
Beyond looking good, however, there is a tradition in rugby of touring and, as part of that tradition, visiting players usually trade an item of their team gear for an item of the host team's gear. This has, at times, also been done just after a big game or a small tournament. Our guys look good and are helping to carry-on a great tradition.

Team "Bar" Cap and Kid Sweatshirts

The hat is a rugby tradition; they are often used for trade after "friendly" games or games on tour. They are adjustable and in crimson with "Rugby" over top of "St. Joe's Prep".
The sweatshirt is a grey hoodie, with a front pocket. Please inquire about sizes and availability.
Team Kit Bags by Canterbury

The new kit bags are black, with the CCC logo as well as a side pocket for boots/spikes (which will help keep dirty spikes from clothes). There is also a set of wheels, so the bag acts as a rolling piece of luggage (which will be handy if we go on tour...!).
Team Tie

The team tie is striped in crimson and grey with the Prep Rugby Hawk image in the background, with a prominent hawk towards the point.
The team tie was part of the dress code for the Ireland Tour 2008, and it helped to give the players a sense of team unity.
2008 EPRU Championship Commemorative Jersey

The commemorative jersey has the Prep Rugby logo on the left chest, the Canterbury logo on the right, and on the right sleeve is the wording: 2008 EPRU H.S. Champions / #7 in the Nation.
Two notes about the jersey. First, these jerseys do not have a number on the back. Second, the jersey is a game ready jersey, and so is a little tight; people may want to consider purchasing a larger than usual size for themselves.
What We Wear
For 2009, much of our gear will be Canterbury of New Zealand gear. Canterbury is the premier provider of rugby gear. Generally, we will purchase set quantities and offer them to the team and, when possible, will offer the excess for sale in the Prep Bookstore.
If there is an item you want and we are sold out or if you simply want some advice on which rugby boot (spike/cleat) to purchase, or another Canterbury item, our Rep is Doug, and the store number is 610-970-7369.
Other items will come from Ball's Out Rugby, and still other items are personalized for us by Triple Play Sports from right here in Philadelphia.
